BAR Tombo
A moment to unwind in the city.
At BAR Tombo in Higashi-Ikebukuro, pair wild game dishes like venison jerky and wild boar hot dogs with whiskies and cocktails tailored to your taste.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Step inside BAR Tombo, where a counter stretches toward the back, and you will quickly notice an unusual draw for a bar: a menu featuring wild game dishes. Sourced from a hunter in Karuizawa, offerings such as venison jerky and a wild boar hot dog deliver mild, approachable flavors that make it easy to keep sipping. When you want something more substantial, comforting choices like hayashi rice and sandwiches are also on hand.
The back bar holds a generous lineup of Scotch and other whiskies, including Ardbeg and Talisker, while cocktails can be flexibly tailored using liqueurs such as St-Germain. Even if you are not well-versed in specific labels, sharing your current mood or preferred flavor profile is enough to receive thoughtful suggestions—from approachable pours to creative mixed drinks—making it an easy place to settle in solo.
A welcoming late-night stop in Higashi-Ikebukuro, it serves equally well whether you are arriving hungry or simply looking to unwind quietly over a glass and a dish of salted mixed nuts.
